Welcome
Our cycling club celebrates its 50 anniversary, and for 41 years we have been appearing under the name of Sava Cycling Club. During all these years our club has been among the biggest and most successful clubs in Slovenia despite the fact that general conditions were in favour of cycling sport to a greater or lesser extent. We can praise the courage and unselfishness of club's personnel as well as our faithful sponsors who have always believed there is a place for professionalism in sport.
We are aware of the fact that there is no professional sport without investing in education and training of young cyclists. That is why we make our best to have genuine relations established in the local environment. A number of young athletes who train, gather experience and acquire a proper attitude to sport proves that we have succeeded. There are several promising young athletes who will develop their professional careers when time comes. This is the reward for all engaged in this creative process which demands determination, power and giving up, yet it brings many a great experience and, maybe most important, a great incentive for the future.

»With a great deal of enthusiasm cycling fans established the sport association Mladost – Cycling Club in Kranj in 1975 that later renamed to Cycling Club Sava Kranj. With zealous cooperation by club members and support by Sava the cycling tradition is not only preserved but it has strengthened from year to year, as well as expanded throughout the Gorenjsko region (Škofja Loka, Tržič, Bled, Šenčur). Cycling club Sava is an excellently organised team conducted by experienced experts, while thanks to sponsor funds and assistance provided by the company Sava d.d. young cyclists are able to train in favourable conditions and develop and achieve top results.« |
»In addition to capable, ambitious athletes and excellent managing a high cash input is required for being successful in today’s sports world. Despite its restructuring Sava d.d. has remained faithful to the club and it only deepened its co-operation with the club in all respects. We achieve superb results, our club has trained many athletes who are members of the strongest European teams now. We are focusing on development of the youngest cyclists and form successful teams of young athletes. The chances for the future are great.«
